What you might not know is big corporations don’t always have your best interest in mind. That’s how questionable, if not down right harmful things can end up in your face cleanser. I’ve compiled a list of some of the nasty ingredients you’ll want to avoid:

Parabens:
The concern is parabens seems to disrupt the bodies hormone balance and recent studies have seen a strong link between this chemical and cancer. Especially of the breast. ‘Nuff said!

Sulfates:
Sulfates are the most common cleaning ingredients used in commercial cleaning products, such as laundry and dish washing detergents and engine greasers. Funny, because they are the most common cleansing ingredients used in skin and hair care products! Your skin absorbs this chemical making it dry and itchy.

Toluene:
This is a hazardous chemical and risks can include brain and other organ toxicity, allergic reactions and irritation to the skin and eyes. It has also been linked to cancer and nervous system damage.

Ethanolamines:
A CORROSIVE CHEMICAL and contact can severely irritate and burn the skin and eyes with possible eye damage.May cause a skin allergy. May damage the liver and kidneys and can affect the nervous system.

Cold Water, Hot Hair

After conditioning, rinse your hair in cold water. This simple trick will close your hair cuticles, helping to seal in the moisture. Cold water will also close the pores, preventing dirt from entering, and accumulating on the scalp.

And if that’s not enough, a cold water rinse can close the scales of your hair cuticle, which not only prevents frizz, but adds luster to those beautiful locks.
